This series was issued on 18 November 1938 to support the Winterhilfswerk charity program.

The stamps depict:

  • 3+2 Pf — Castle Forchtenstein and Silver Thistle
  • 4+3 Pf — Flexenstrasse and Spring Pasque Flower
  • 5+3 Pf — Zell am See and Auricula
  • 6+4 Pf — Grossglockner and Edelweiss
  • 8+4 Pf — Aggstein Ruins and Cyclamen
  • 12+6 Pf — Prince Eugene Monument in Vienna and Dog Rose
  • 15+10 Pf — Erzberg and Alpine Rose
  • 25+15 Pf — Hall and Alpine Flower Trumpet
  • 40+35 Pf — Braunau Inn Townscape and Spring Crocus
Throughout the 1920s and 1930s, Germany issued several sets of stamps to benefit the Deutsche Nothilfe and Winterhilfswerke charity programs. In conjunction with these issues, the Reichspost posted advertisements depicting the stamps and encouraging patrons to purchase them for the benefit of the charity.
