On 3 December 1941, the NDH issued this stamp to commemorate the Croatian forces serving with the German Army.
The stamp depicts Croatian Legionnaires holding shields with the emblems of Germany, Croatia, and Italy, with the inscription “Borba Udruzene Europa na Istoku” (The Struggle of a United Europe in the East) in the upper corner.
The printing of these stamps suffered from poor quality control, with significant errors in perforation. Among these are imperforate sides, double perforations, blind perforations, and misaligned perforations such as this.
