Iron Cross

This card was issued on 12 July 1940.

The stamp design is identical to the 1939 Labor Day stamp.

The back of the card shows an Iron Cross, with the inscription “ES KANN NUR EINER SIEGEN UND DAS SIND WIR” (Only one of us can be the victor and that is we), a line from Hitler’s speech of 8 November 1939.

A special additional printing was done for Stamp Dealer’s Day in Vienna, 1-3 December 1940. This special printing bears the additional text “Tag des großdeutschen Briefmarkenhandles / Wien 1. bis 3. Dezember 1940”.
