In March 1940, the Generalgouvernement issued this overprint of Poland MiNr. 325, originally featuring President Ignacy Mościcki.
Initial runs were produced with the overprint applied by a rubber plate (MiNr. 16 II), leading to a shiny black surcharge with squashed edges. These issues are much rarer than later issues overprinted by metal plate (MiNr. 16 I).
