This series was issued in 1940 to commemorate the KdF Sammerlergruppen Süd (Strength Through Joy leisure organization Stamp Collecting Group South) stamp show in Leipzig, 10 March 1940.
The cards are 1936 Dresden Olympic Stamp Show cards (PP122 C28/02 and PP142 C4) with additional red handstamp “Werbeschau der K.d.F.-Sammlergruppe Süd, 10. März 1940” and blue/yellow label stating “”MEIN LEIPZIG LOB ICH MIR!” (My Leipzig, the place for me!).
A commemorative cancel was available at the stamp show.
