SMS Kaiserin Augusta was a protected cruiser of the Kaiserliche Marine launched on 15 January 1892 and commissioned on 17 November 1892.
Following the initial occupation of Kiautschou, SMS Kaiserin Augusta was sent as reinforcement for the Ostasiatische Squadron, She would remain in service at Ostasiatische Station from January 1898 to February 1902. In 1902, she returned to Germany for decommissioning.
She was then refit and placed into reserve. She would see additional service during WWI as a gunnery training ship before being decommissioned again and scrapped immediately after the war.
