Berlin Overprints

On 14 June 1920, Danzig began issuing its first stamps, these overprints of German Germania issues. They are commonly referred to as the “Berliner Aufdruck” (Berlin overprints), as they were overprinted at the Reichsdruckerei (Government Printing Office) in Berlin.

In addition to the issued varieties, three values (5 Pf, 10 Pf, 40 Pf) in four additional color shades were printed, but never issued (MiNr. A 1 a, A I c, A II, & A III).
