Semendria Aid

This set was issued to benefit the victims of catastrophic damage to the city of Semendria.

The stamps depict Semendria fortress (MiNr. 46 and 49) and refugees (MiNr. 47 and 48). The stamps are of the same design as MiNr. 50-53, but with different colors and surcharges.

MiNr. 47 can be found with two plate flaws — missing the Cyrillic “S” (MiNr. 47 I) or “G” (MiNr. 47 II).

MiNr. 47 Plate Flaws — missing characters in engraver’s mark

MiNr. 48 can be found with one plate flaw, a white spot on the “0” in the value.

MiNr. 48 A I Plate Flaw — white spot in “0”

MiNr. 49 can be found with one plate flaw — a “door” in the tower — as can be seen on the copy shown above.
