Set Date(s)
July / August 1944
In 1944, the American OSS printed these forgeries of Deutsches Reich MiNr. 785 and MiNr. 788.
The stamps were affixed to bogus letters containing subversive materials and dropped over German and Austrian territory as part of Operation Cornflakes.
The stamps are easy to differentiate from the originals due to differences in perforation, paper, and print quality.
