Set Date(s)
March 1906 / 1911
Between March 1906 and 1911, Germany issued this set of Germania overprints. They feature "Marocco" in a Fraktur font on stamps that are inscribed "DEUTSCHES REICH" with a watermark.
The underlying stamps are Germany MiNr. 84 I - 93 I and MiNr. 94 A I - 97 A I a.
Strongly shifted overprints exist on the 25 Centimos on 20 Pfennig value. Michel lists two varieties of this error, depending on whether the stamp was in the columns 1-9 of the sheet or column 10. Stamps from columns 1-9 will show traces of overprint from the adjoining stamp on the right side, while stamps from column 10 will not.

The plate used to apply the overprint to the 1 Peseta 25 Centimos on 1 Mark value suffered a single line of damage to the plate, resulting in several overprint flaws. The damaged portions of the plate were later re-used in different positions, leading to the two known overprint flaws being found in multiple plate positions, both together and independent of one another.

Posn. 6 (”M”), Posn. 9 (“1”), other positions possible
The portion of the plate that shows damage to the “M” was also used in printing the 2 Peseta 50 Centimos on 2 Mark and 6 Peseta 25 Centimos on 5 Mark values.

Posn. Unknown
An additional overprint flaw is known with different damage to the same “M”.

Posn. 16
In 1902, the Reichsdruckerei (Reich Printing Office) began printing in the margins of stamp sheets the internal order number under which the stamps were printed. This order number, or Hausauftragsnummer (HAN), varied in location, typically being found in the right or bottom margin.
Because the stamps of this set were overprinted, they can be found with two HAN – the HAN of the original printing order for the underlying Germania issues (HAN U), and the HAN of the order applying the overprint (HAN A).
