This series was issued in early 1941 to commemorate Stamp Day. The cards are Third Reich MiNr. P242 (“In the fight for freedom!”) overprinted for use in German-occupied Alsace.
The cards depict units of the German armed forces:

- /02 — Alpine Troops
- /03 — Alpine Troops in Winter Uniforms
- /04 — Armor
- /05 — Rail Artillery
- /06 — U-Boat and Seaplane
- /07 — Luftwaffe Communications Troops
- /08 — Motorized Infantry
Ten different commemorative cancels depicting various war scenes were available from 12-14 January.
