Lebewohl

This set of postcards is entitled Lebewohl (Goodbye).  They were printed by Lederer & Popper of Leipzig, and bears the publisher’s set number 5646.  They feature a woman saying goodbye to her soldier as he departs to fight in World War I.

This set was used by a soldier of the Ersatz-Bataillon, 2. Garde-Regiment zu Fuß, 7. Kompagnie (7th Company, 2nd Guard Regiment of Foot, Replacement Battalion) in February-March 1916.
