MSP No. 80 – SMS Eber II

SMS Eber II was a gunboat of the Kaiserliche Marine launched on 6 June 1903 and commissioned on 15 September 1903.

Upon commissioning, SMS Eber II was put into reserve status, where she would remain until 1910.  In 1910, she was activated and deployed to Wrstafrikanische Station.  She would remain at that station until the outbreak of World War I.  At the outbreak of war, she transferred her guns and most of her crew to the auxiliary cruiser Cap Trafalgar.  Her remaining crew then took her to Brazil, where she was interned, then scuttled to prevent her capture.
