MSP No. 59 – SMS Sperber
SMS Sperber was an unprotected cruiser of the Kaiserliche Marine launched on 13 May 1879 and commissioned on 2 April 1889.
Early in her career, SMS Sperber would see service in a variety of stations, including East Africa, West Africa, Eastern Americas, and the Pacific. In 1905, she was assigned to Westafrikanische Station, where she remained until 1910, when she returned to Germany for decommissioning and scrapping.
