The Deutsche Luftfahrt-Ausstellung (German Aviation Exhibition) was held 12-27 August 1933, in Hamburg. Balloon flights were conducted, with proceeds from the flights benefitting the Luftschutzabteilung (Air Defense Section) of the Technischen Nothilfe, a civil defense organization.

Three semi-official airmail stamps were used on mail carried on the flights. They are of the same design, but in three different colors.
