The first stamps printed for German-occupied Guernsey are of the same basic deign as the first definitives printed for German-occupied Jersey.
The lower denominations of these definitives were first issued in 1941, and the 2 1/2 Pence value was issued in 1944. Due to variations in printing of the lower denomination issues, numerous color and paper varieties exist with printing dates ranging from 1941 to 1943.
