The primary postmarks found on items from Togo are those of the German post offices in Togo, Marine-Schiffspost postmarks of German naval vessels in Togo waters, and postmarks of steamers serving on the Hamburg-Westafrika routes.

Additionally, Togo items can be found with postmarks from stations in the interior of the territory, as well as auxiliary seepost markings and landing postmarks on items transported via seepost back to Europe.
