Third Reich Postage Stamps

 The Third Reich issued this series of stamps on 5 November 1934, with the surcharge benefiting the Deutsche Nothilfe charity program.

The stamps depict the following:

  • 3+2 Pf — businessman
  • 4+2 Pf — blacksmith
  • 5+2 Pf — mason
  • 6+4 Pf — miner
  • 8+4 Pf — architect
  • 12+3 Pf — farmer
  • 20+10 Pf — scientist
  • 25+15 Pf — artist
  • 40+35 Pf — judge

Throughout the 1920s and 1930s, Germany issued several sets of stamps to benefit the Deutsche Nothilfe and Winterhilfswerke charity programs. In conjunction with these issues, the Reichspost posted advertisements depicting the stamps and encouraging patrons to purchase them for the benefit of the charity.
