Generalgouvernement

On 26 October 1940, the Generalgouvernement issued this set to commemorate the 1st Anniversary of the Generalgouvernement.

The stamps depict scenes of the Wołyń resettlement, the movement of ethnic Germans from the former Polish province of  Wołyń upon its transfer to the Soviet Union under the terms of the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact:

  • MiNr 57 — farm woman
  • MiNr 58 — farmer

The surcharge was for the benefit of the Führer’s Culture Fund.

The stamps were printed in sheets of 50.
