SA and SS

These stamps were issued 21 April 1945 to commemorate Reich Party Organizations. The SA and SS issues were printed in substantial quantities, but issues commemorating the NSKK (Nazi Party Motor Corps), MiNr. X, and SNFK (Nazi Socialist Flying Club), MiNr. XI, were only printed in very small quantities as samples.

The SA and SS issues can be found used, but there is considerable doubt as to the origin and validity of used copies. Currently scholarship seems to indicate no legitimate use of these issues prior to the final collapse of the German postal system in April 1945.

The stamps were printed in 10 x 5 sheets.

MiNr. 910 ca be found with two plate flaws.

MiNr. 910 I shows Plate Flaw I, a mark across the cheek, and can be found at position 2 of some sheets.

MiNr. 910 Plate Flaw I — gash across cheek

MiNr. 910 II shows Plate Flaw II, a bright spot on the SS collar insignia, and can be found at position 3 of some sheets.
